Largo Doctor Faces More Accusations

A Largo doctor who was already accused of inappropriately touching 9 of his female patients could face eight more counts. Eight more women have come forward claiming that Dr. Kayode Sotonwa has molested them as well.

After the story broke last month concerning nine women, police have received complaints against the doctor from eight more women. Mr. Sartes, who is acting as Dr. Sotonwa’s lawyer for the case, is convinced that these women haven’t really been molested, they are acting out of a herd instinct.

Lieutenant Mike Loux has said that the complainants were female patients who said Sotonwa fondled their breasts. There have been eight misdemeanor battery accusations referred to the State Attorney’s Office. The Attorney’s Office will determine whether or not Dr. Sotonwa needs to be charged further.

Dr. Sotonwa has pleaded not guilty. He has made sure to note that he has always had his wife or a nurse present when he examined his female patients.

The Florida Department of Health has launched a separate investigation, but Dr. Sotonwa’s license is still active.
