FAQs, Criminal Defense in Clearwater

Can convictions be appealed to higher courts?

A. Yes. A defendant who was convicted can appeal that conviction to an appellate court. This is generally done in hopes that the appellate court will reverse the decision. The appellate court reviews only the record of what happened in the original trial. Witnesses are not called.
